Today’s Reflection
Leader: Prepare the way, cause God’s gonna do it!
People: Every valley gonna be filled, and every mountain and hill gonna
be made low, and the crooked gonna be made straight, and the rough
ways gonna be made smooth.
Leader: We’re all gonna see it!
People: God’s gonna do it!
—Tony Peterson, “God’s Gonna Do It!” in The Africana Worship Book (Year C), edited by Valerie Bridgeman Davis and Safiyah Fosua (Discipleship Resources, 2008)

Today’s Scripture
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
—Isaiah 40:4 (NIV)
Prayer for the Week
Abba, Help us to see beyond ourselves,
and see you in ALL of the world.
It is because of your goodness and
in response to your grace
that I pray . . . Amen.

Selling the condo and buying a single family home in the Poconos. Easier said than done in the current market.
Worship planning for July 3rd is going well. CCUMC will be back to laity led worship at a time when many expected we would have a pastor. The strawberry shortcake event returns. We work to improve our communication technology and wait for the decision of a lay leader on possibly becoming a certified lay pastor.
Prayers for women’s reproductive health care and safer environments for all with a new gun and mental health law. Today will be the hottest of the weekend, glad to be able to stay cool. Prayers for those facing far hotter and more humid weather than here. Be safe! Thank You, Lord.
I don’t know that I am praying “that big” right now. I am praying that my friend and her daughter will be very aware of their reservoir – how much capacity they have to engage with people, having been gone for so long. I pray they will be very attuned to self care and be comfortable with saying “no”. I am praying for a new member of the cancer support group – we met 3 meetings ago. Her mom passed this week of pancreatic cancer. The daughter has four children under the age of 13 and is having challenging conversations with them. I am praying for Julie – for wisdom, courage and discernment in the days ahead with h. I pray for Ally and David, for viable possibilities for income and for continued healing. I pray for Robert and his continued guidance of Erich, for decisions which lie ahead. I pray for Lou, as she still settles into life on her own, treasuring time spent with her children when the possibility presents itself. I pray for April, as she selflessly cares for her loved one. May God strengthen and sustain her.
It was good to be in the House of the Lord with His people this morning.
A quiet rest of the day at home.
The miracle I pray for us David’s healing. He fell Saturday night and broke his hip and had surgery to repair the break today. We feel sort of like we have been whacked with a club. This has been my fear, ever since he developed balance issues after covid. Please pray, dear friends. I am at my wits end trying to find ways to keep him safe.
Robert, I am agreeing with you in prayer for women’s reproductive rights/issues, our right to privacy, and efforts to keep us safe. Prayers for your church as you seek wisdom. Jill, thank you for your prayers for David and me. I’m praying for your friend and her Family as they mourn her mom who died of pancreatic cancer. Lord, help us to be the people you want us to be.
