New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Especially when there is so much negativity and stress, and we are overwhelmed by all that’s going on in the world, we need to hear the good news over and over and over again. We need to hear the story of God’s salvation, grace, mercy, and compassion. We need to be reminded that there’s a God who is bigger than whatever I’m going through, who hears and sees and knows my struggle. God’s got me. God’s going to give me what I need.

—Junius B. Dotson, Soul Reset: Breakdown, Breakthrough, and the Journey to Wholeness (Upper Room Books, 2019)

The nature that surrounds me and the fact that the universe stretches so far we don’t know its limits reinforce the belief that God is my creator. Who else could be everywhere at once? Thank You,
Lord. Message and Communion liturgy preparation continues. Thankfully, I have guidance.
It’s snowing, that’s much appreciated, skiing and snowshoeing can’t happen without it.
Praying fir Julie (job search, Megan’s job change, legal issues), Jill (school, Dad, Roger), Ally&David
(heath, income, well-being, Jeremy), Lou ( children, especially youngest, Mom, work) and Covid safety for everyone. Prayers fir our nation’s deep divide, peace in the world, and positive results as we deal wth climate change. Thank You, Lord for ever presence.

    Faith and faith alone.
Prayers for improved health and finances for Ally and David and for improved health for Jeremy. Prayers for Safety from Covid for Jill and improved health for Roger. Prayers for Lou and her family. Prayers for Robert as he prepaares to give communion to his congregation, may God lead him. Yes we have snow as well, I do not like it though.
I am on double the medication for my acid reflux as well as a medicine for nausea. I still have trouble eating and especially drinking.
Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.

Recounting passages of Scripture, the section from Lamentations 3, as well as the Psalms – these keep me where I need to be anchored. Reflecting back upon His faithfulness throughout my life – this too, is an encouragement.
Ally – I see your post, thank you for sharing that with us. I will be praying for Him to reveal Himself to you in a new way, so that your certainty of His trustworthiness will increase. I believe He appreciates this honest statement from you and yearns to draw you nearer to Himself.
Snow this morning while I was out for a run. And it was pretty cold. I shortened my run, because it was so cold. I was hoping the wind had died down, which to some extent it had…but the wind chill was a bit too low, I believe.
Hitting with my partner this evening – tennis – for an hour, and then on to my god son’s basketball game. My tennis team plays to advance to the state tournament this Sunday. I haven’t played since before Christmas – so it will be good to be out there this evening hitting. No team I have played on has ever advanced this far – I am excited about it. I am very grateful for being relatively pain and stiffness free these past many months. Each morning I weigh myself and also record my exercise activity and may pain/stiffness levels. As I recorded my weight this morning, I had an extra moment of gratitude realizing it had been several months since I have recorded any discomfort. So grateful.
