Today’s Reflection
If we are open to the idea that God really is more about midwifery than rescuing, then another helpful question is what. What do you want to form and shape in me, God? What do you want me to let go of? To surrender? What part of me needs awakened? What part of my false self needs to be shed so my wise adult self can be more present? What in me do you want to heal? What in me do you want to birth?
—Beth Taulman Miller, What Loss Can Teach Us: A Sacred Pathway to Growth and Healing (Upper Room Books, 2021)

Today’s Scripture
Will I open the womb and not bring to birth? says the LORD.
Will I, who create life, close the womb? says your God.
—Isaiah 66:9 (CEB)

Lots of snow yesterday, a wonderful Bible study sharing favorite Bible verses and our faith journeys.
Learning to use my new phone is a challenge for me, had a good trudging walk through the snow to get supplies for the phone. The next model is progressing, might go snowshoeing today. The Lord is with you. Thank You, Lord.
Sorry but my mind is not able to focus on these questions currently. Though through the current situation I can only pray that He is birthing some great spiriual growth within me.
So yesterday my old lawyer’s husband/law partner let me know that I needed to get a new lawyer. She had a detached retina and will be unable to continue working for the foreseeable future. He recommended a different lawyer than the one he had (the one I had spoken to two year s ago. I gave her money and she never returned my phone calls. This new lawyer is taking my case and already this morning emailed me that she needs another meeting (by phone). I have set the appointment. We are to leave the house so we can talk freely and it will be about 2 hours. I have to leave the house because h has been keeping watch over me including eating breakfast across from me in the morning. Despite this I went into the laundry room and with the dryer going made the appointment for next Tuesday. When she spoke yesterday she was not hopeful, but last evening I recived an email that said she found case law that would show the separation agreement is not enforceable. Thank you for your prayers and please continue.
Prayers for Robert and Erich as they begin counseling together. May Erich’s agreeing to participate mean that he intends to work on these valuable relationship.
Prayers for Jill and her student’s as they continue to find their way to one another and cooperative learning.
Prayers for Ally, David and Rachel. May Rachel’s pain respond to the shots so she can soon go home. May David find help for his continues struggles with balance and stamina. May Ally find a diagnosis for her vision issues.
These questions deserve deep consideration, humble bowing before The Throne and asking for His movement and guidance. What do You want me to let go of…and what would You have me replace it with? The online devotional I am doing with my friend – it is focusing on sacrificial living – and a greater awareness of the vast number of poverty stricken throughout the world. And while it might not seem one person can make a difference, I can. I can make a difference in a very small way in my eyes, but it has the potential to be monumental for the other. I remain open.
Julie – I pray that in God’s unfathomable and mysterious ways – this lawyer stricken by a detached retina – could lead you to a more attentive lawyer who can expedite, positively, your situation. May you continue to find Him to be sufficient, for each day, each circumstance.
A whirlwind day – seemed extra busy with school. But, still, a positive day.
Grateful for livestreaming – as I am watching my god daughter’s school senior college signing day. My god daughter will continue with basketball in college – and today is significant for her. I hope she is encouraged by this event. Will watch her game this evening. Grateful for this technology.
No idea why these old posts appear!
What part of my false self needs to be shed so my wise adult self can be more present? Certainly there parts of me that have difficulty in specific social settings that make conversation , adapting to the situation difficult. CBT has helped make progress there. I’m thankful for that method of problem resolution.
I’m saddened that connections to relatives in Germany seem to have come to an end. While they weren’t frequent, they were steady. I think age is a factor.
As CCUMC approaches charge conference, I as for your prayers as there are important issues that are unsettled. What form of administration do we use? How do we continue?
Preparations for Lunar NewYear have us thinking of kim bab. It is a favorite food made with seaweed, rice, vegetables, and beef. Thankfully we have obtained all the ingredients.
Prayers for healing, health, well-being, and care giving. God sees us through good times and tough times. Thank You. Lord.
