Today’s Reflection
If we dare to sing “He Leadeth Me,” we dare to realize that God doesn’t ask us to behave or stay out of trouble. Congressman John Lewis always said we should get into some “good trouble.” I wonder if he knew Bonhoeffer’s thought that our goodness can actually block us from God’s will. It’s not about keeping our hands clean. It’s about getting them dirty for God in the real world to work for change on God’s good earth. Being led in this way really is a “blessed thought.”

Today’s Scripture
[The Lord] leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.

It’s a long drive from the Mount Washington Valley to the Poconos, ao far in our research it seems worth the effort. A trip there sometime this month will help us decide. Our Lenten study begins a day early using today’s book. Have heard the hymns and was very moved. It’s been a while since we heard, sang these wonderful hymns. Hope worship in person returns soon. Prayers for the NEM family and the people of Ukraine. Their Easter eggs give everyone hope. Thank You, Lord.
I can’t think of any example of this for myself.
Prayers for Ally and David and Jeremy, may God walk with them through their health, financial and legal struggles. Prayers for safe travel for Robert as he travels to his next home area. Prayers for forbearance for Larry, Becky and her husband as they learn to live together. Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.
I need to get busy doing the dirty work of packing things up for dad. While at it, I need to be very mindful of my patience level and my tone in discussions. It is about behavior and action – both necessary to accomplish what needs to be done in the best manner possible. I anticipate some emotional conversations as throwing away things and packing up picture after picture of the family will stir his emotions. I want to love well and honor him and mom.
My sister arrives in town tomorrow evening. I hope I can get a good jump on packing up things this evening. Will start in the kitchen, with all the everyday dishes. The final walk through is today, the buyers will be discussing what furniture they would like to purchase to keep in the condo. Becky and I had dibs on some things, but we both told dad to sell what he can – if he is comfortable on the price. I went through many items with him yesterday on the phone, setting reasonable (in our opinion) prices.
My daddy believed in the concept of “good trouble”. So do I. I think I need to get into some good trouble. Thinking of volunteering opportunities here in our town and Other ways to make our world a better place.
When it rains, it pours. Jeremy is spending the night at vets. Possible urinary blockage. This is discouraging because he’s been doing so well. I got back from vets and found an icky access on my 25 year old Scout’s back. I cleaned it And applied antibiotic topical, and started her on oral antibiotics. Please pray for my babies. Not looking good for getting access to Mama’s. I try to remember that I didn’t have to leave beloved possessions behind because my country has been invaded. Perspective, but I’m still heartbroken.
Robert, praying the transition from New England to the Poconos is a smooth one. Julie, so glad you are doing better and praying for continued healing. Jill, prayers for Larry, Becky, and your brother in-law, that transition will be smooth. Praying for you as you pack up the condo.
I’m gravely concerned about the people of Ukraine. God, show us how to pray. Blessings to all.
