Today’s Reflection
Thank you, good God,
for all the gifts I have already received
from your creation this day.
Because the creation is yours
and you love it,
help me to love it more dearly.
—Sam Hamilton-Poore, Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation (Upper Room Books, 2009)

A place to live, food to eat, and the needs of the day all come from God’s creation. Thank You, Lord. Prayers for more rain despite three rainy days we are still dry. Lord may Your wisdom and common sense be used by all during this pandemic. Prayers fir safety and well-being. Thank You, Lord.
Knowing that it was a bit cooler this morning, and hearing Roger moving around the room, I opened the window near my bed – hoping he would settle in on his window seat so I could lie there a little bit longer. The birds were up to their boisterous morning chatting – and the word cacophony came to mind. Yet, somehow, it was a glorious morning symphony, with the right mindset and hearing. It should be a very comfortable morning for golf, with milder summer temps. A bit later of a tee time – I am appreciating the unrushed nature this morning.
Father – continue to be present to Julie and protect her and Megan in these days ahead. May You provide Julie with the wisdom, discernment and confidence to move forward into the future You have planned for her. May they find the manna You provide sufficient for the day.
e first things to come to mind were the food I am currently eating and my kitties. I am drinking loose leaf tea and as Megan describes me as a tea snob, I know where my tea comes from and have seen pictures of the lush estates with the bushes and the people who pluck each bud from the stalks. It is the bud and two leaves that are harvested then the hand treatment begins which is different for each tea type.
Chai was frightening me this morning but when I finally picked him up and put him in the kitchen he ate several cans of food! He and Tazzie are now cuddled together sleeping in the Florida room. I thank God.
Thank you, Jill, for your words as I need all the kind words and prays others provide now. H is sitting across from me eating as if he didn’t just last night rip my world apart with his announcement of seeking a divorce.
Prayers for Robert and his continued financial solvency.
Prayers for Jill and Larry, may Larry have another wonderful day of golfing with more personal bests.
Prayers, thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement and stay healthy dear UR one and all
What gifts from God’s creation will you receive today? Today we went to the local greenhouse for their end of the year sale and I got a flat of zinnias to put in a bare spot in the yard. It was glorious to see all of the plants and I am always happy they share their extras with us instead of throwing them out or letting them die. They are annuals but if I go and harvest the heads, the seeds will be waiting for me to plant next year. God’s creation always includes tomorrow.
I pray for you Julie, that you and Megan will be safe as you take next steps and you will feel His guidance at all times. You are His beloved children.
I am encouraged to think of taking up golfing after reading your posts Jill. Last year I said I would take lessons and be out on the course often, but alas, it didn’t happen…yet. I hope you and your Dad will continue to have many wonderful times playing together.
The Mommy ducks seem to have only 1 baby at this time of the year compared to earlier. No matter, they are as patient with 1 as with many.
Lou, I lift you and your family up as you help so many others with their problems, yet need a listening ear for yourself. I pray for your children as they make decisions in their lives. I pray for my children as they make decisions for themselves and our grandkiddos. Being a parent is a lifelong undertaking.
Robert, I think of you when we have Zoom meetings. What a blessing this technology is!! May you stay connected with your church and family.
May Ally have a good week as you and David research positions that will be just right for you. May Marcy and Roxy be well. May all be well with Andrea and her family as well as all others in our UR Family. Blessings to all.
