Today’s Reflection
If we are to hear our own soul speak, we need first to discern what the voice of God sounds like and to trust that we are perceiving the Divine initiative in our lives. . . .
So what does the voice of God sound like? First, the voice of God is life-giving rather than life-diminishing. The voice of God is full of grace and mercy toward each one of us.

Acknowledging the unseen Divine by human standards (the five senses) is impossible. Only Emanuel, Jesus made seeing the Divine possible.Souls and hearts recognize the Lord. Yearning for ew Every Morning and time with God also acknowlwdges God’s ever presence≥. Thank You, Lord
Trusting in the Lord always that he will lead and guide me- I don’t always know where He leads me – the way doesn’t always make sense and that is why faith and trust in Him is crucial. I stumble and fall because I am human but I pray everyday for his mercy and for Him to help me. Prayers for all who come here today – help us Lord.
After reading the devotion & the author’s distinction, I will be wary of mistaking some other voice for the voice of the Lord .
I find it difficult to discern the Lord’s voice and leadings from my own thoughts and desires. When I experience a yearning to do something or have a thought about what to say or do I measure it against what I have learned from the Bible, devotionals, NEM,sermons and other believers. If it is in alignment with these then I take it as God breathed.
This is something I have been dealing with for a couple of weeks. I felt I heard God’s voice and that God was ordering my and sister’s steps regarding her kitty. If felt God was leading us as to what to do regarding his treatment. We both felt such peace about what we feel the Lord spoke. Our disappointment and sorrow for Sir Thomas, passed over the weekend, has caused me to question if what I thought was God’s voice, was our wishful thinking. So praying and asking for God to give me ears to hear God’s voice, for discernment through scripture, and prayers from my Christ-following friends and family. A large element of trusting God too. I struggle with that.
