New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Nature’s beauty is itself a reflection of Jesus’ own beauty. Thomas Aquinas reminded us that God wove beauty into the world to reflect God’s own beauty. Jesus will “make the woeful heart to sing” no matter how we think of him. … The antidote to sorrow isn’t having a bunch of fun; it is looking to Jesus. The antidote to despair is praise. For us, we see the Beautiful Savior at our Lord’s table.

Never really thought of it as Jesus’ beauty, but as God’s creation. Clear 💙 sky. Deer in back yard at 9:30 am! Dogwood Are in bloom, and that brings to mind crucifixion of Jesus. That is beauty? An expression of God’s love for us.

This is a new concept for me. I always thank God when I see beauty in the creation.
Yesterday and today I have not felt well. I am dizzy and exhausted and my stomach hurts constantly. Eventually I get sinus pain. I had hoped I would be better by today but I’m not and I don’t look forward to losing a precious hour of sleep tonight. Of course I am expected to continue doing everything I always do plus today I have to clean all the floors.

White snow, blanketing tree branches, when there is no wind to disturb it.
White foam, contrasting beautifully blue and green sea water, on a beach.
A piercing white moon, in a clear ink black sky.

Not nearly enough sleep overnight, as I was out late with a tennis match. So, been lounging and napping with the kittens and the heated blanket. Switching between the tennis in CA and the golf in FL on tv. I should be doing schoolwork, but am currently utterly unmotivated.
May be spending some time with my friend who is going through a divorce, this evening. She is doing some work with her volunteer organization and will call when she is done.
Trying to muster up some motivation to take a walk. But the sun is in and out and it is chilly.
