Today’s Reflection
When my church celebrates the Eucharist, worshipers walk forward to receive the bread and cup. Patrick, a member of the congregation, now uses a cane as a result of a stroke. He moves very slowly as he comes forward to receive Communion. Patrick could sit in the pew and let the servers bring the bread and cup to him, but coming down the aisle expresses his gratitude to God for walking beside him during his hospitalization and recovery. “Every step I take is a prayer. It’s how I praise God for my recovery,” he says.

Yes, every moment I’m awake, every breath I take is a blessing. It makes a huge difference knowing God is every present. No one else knows me completely.. There are humans who come close, but never know me like my Creator. God is perfect, humans have flaws. God loves me despite the flaws.
Loving other people in spite of their flaws is harder for humans, even tougher loving your enemy.
Two world wars and German heritage don’t make it easier.
Have had to rethink, recalculate the measurements for the train station model, they produce a model that is the wrong scale.
ZOOM fellowship soon, my prayers for NEM concerns, needs, situations and yes for blessings and thanksgivings too. Thank You, Lord
Right now every step is painful, so hard to associate it with prayer other than with a pleading for the pain to cease.
It is very cold here with a low today of 12 and wind chill’s below zero and tomorrow the low is to 1 with of course wind chills well below zero. I am staying home due to the cold, ice and my continued leg pain. Megan is running all the errands. She is still waiting to hear about the promising job opportunity.
Prayers for Ally and David and Jeremy and Roger for improved health. Prayers for continued safety for Jill in school and Robert on his snowshoe adventures.
Thank you for your prayers and may God bless all who visit here.
Hmmm – I thought I had missed yesterday, but I think I may have missed two days. Anyway – I responded to yesterday’s with what has been going on.
Every breath, every step a prayer. This seems out of reach. Makes me think of Brother Lawrence and Practicing the Presence of God. What discipline this would require. I am definitely moving along the continuum of awareness, but nowhere close to this. Will keep at it though.
Prayers of safety for those in frigid temps with insufficient means to provide warmth and stability.
