New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

When we, like Christ, can proclaim, “This is my body,” without qualification, caveat, or complaint, we demonstrate what a redemptive life can look like. Whether that body is healthy or ill; upright or stooped; male, female, or gender-queer; light-skinned or dark; scarred, freckled or wrinkled. The truth of our bodies reveals the glory of God. Made perfect in our imperfection, our bodies are enough.

—Hannah E. Shanks, This is My Body (Fresh Air Books, 2018)

Today’s Question

What would change in your spiritual life if you viewed your body as evidence of God’s awesomeness? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
—Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Prayer for the Week

Loving Creator, you have made us — fearfully and wonderfully — in your image. Help us embrace our bodies, just as they are, without hesitation or shame. May we see your glory reflected in ourselves and in others. May we know that we are enough. Amen.

Known to God before we are born, everyone different, we are God’s creation. Yes, that is very amazing, God knows and loves us from the inside out, We are ALL GOD”S CHILDREN! Thank You, Lord!
