New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Only when we embrace all we have experienced as human beings—from our heartbreaking agonies to our ecstatic victories—and freely return them to God can they be used for our healing and as part of the story on our journey.

—Marsha Crockett, Sacred Conversation: Exploring the Seven Gifts of Spiritual Direction (Upper Room Books, 2022)

Today’s Question

for his wonderful works to humankind.

—Psalm 107:21 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

Holy God, thank you for the gift of spiritual direction and for someone to accompany me on my journey of growing closer to you. Help me to remain open to suggestions my spiritual director offers and to pay attention to signs of your presence. Amen.

I don’t understand the concept expressed here. Thank You, Lord, for ever present being and love.

I would go to God and give him all the abuse I have experienced throughout my entire life from childhood through both marriages. I would ask him to heal me from the scars and attitudes I have because of the life of abuse.
Robert, you read my mind. I intend to start a Bible Study. You have mentioned several books that you found helpful and worthwhile. Do you remember any of them?
