Today’s Reflection
Praise to you, my God and Creator!
Your creativity is matched by your compassion!
Today is a new day in the life of creation.
Let me see and hear,
taste, touch, and smell
the thrill of your grace
the pulse of the Spirit
in and through all creation.
—Sam Hamilton-Poore, Earth Gospel: A Guide to Prayer for God’s Creation (Upper Room Books, 2009)

I am keenly aware of His creativity when I see the colors of a sunrise or sunset. The sky is majestic in displaying His handiwork. When I was bikeriding with my sister the other day, she asked about my friend’s place in Montana. She asked – can you see the mountains from her townhouse in town? My response was – when I look out her bedroom window near dusk – I actually saw “purple mountain majesty”. I can still see it now in my mind’s eye, a decade later.
Our day together turned out to be longer than expected, dad and I. We got a flat tire about 15 minutes from our destination. Luckily AAA was fairly quick to respond. The sun was out and we were getting pretty hot. My cousin actually came out to where we were stranded, arriving just as the spare tire had been put on. She led us to a tire center, where we left the car – went with her to the golf course and played. It was really good to catch up on what is going on in her life. She and dad reminisced quite a bit about her dad and grandpa. She took us back to get our car and we headed back, stopping for dinner at a favorite drive-up of mom’s.
Having Chai euthanized this morning. Please pray for him, for Megan and myself.
Please pray for the wonderful vet who does this in the pet’s home.
Please pray we are able to keep all this from h!
I lift you up in prayer now and in the days ahead.
