New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Take twenty minutes of silent Centering Prayer to pause and relax, consenting to the presence of God. Let the healing work of God take place in you.

Read Exodus 3:7-12. Listen for a word that grabs you. Ponder what it tells you. Consider how you are called to service. Pray for the wisdom and courage you need. Rest assured in the promise that God is with you.

—J. David Muyskens, Sacred Breath: Forty Days of Centering Prayer (Upper Room Books, 2010)

Today’s Question

Where is God calling you to serve? What assurance do you need as you respond in faith? Join the conversation.

Today’s Scripture

[God] said [to Moses], “I will be with you; and this shall be the sign for you that it is I who sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God on this mountain.”
—Exodus 3:12 (NRSV)

Prayer for the Week

This week we invite you to practice Centering Prayer:
1. Choose a sacred word as the symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence and action within.
2. Sitting comfortably and with eyes closed, settle briefly, and then silently introduce the sacred word as the symbol of your consent to God’s presence and action within.
3. When engaged with your thoughts [which includes body sensations, feelings, images, reflections], return ever so gently to the sacred word.
4. At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.
Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.

I think I am called to serve God right where I am, the Mount Washington Valley NH Center Conway UMC. I do have contacts to former churches in Waterbury Center VT and Averill Park NY. There is outreach through World Vision.
No rain today, not quite so overcast, had a good walk in the woods this morning near the Swift River.
Today’s reflection echoes the call that has been emphasized in this week’s prayers from “Listening – Praying in a Noisy World.” Moses’ call to the burning bush while tending flocks of sheep was one of the Bible verses.
With no rain there maybe a second coat of paint on the Central Vermont Brill car, and progress on measuring, cutting, fitting, and gluing the last two side pieces for the tv table.
Will have to endure another season before the possibility that the Leafs will make it past round one of the Stanley Cup playoffs. At least the Bruins are still going
Prayers for health, safety, well-being, financial resources, job possibilities, and family fellowship.
    Thank You, Lord

There is more than enough that needs to be accomplished in my area. I live very near a poverty striken and drug and gang infested area. But right now I make baby steps at reaching out to those I meet as I am dealing with so much in my life.
Megan and I spent yesterday together shopping and picnicing and fishing. We went to a lovely state park with a large lake and we discussed buying a kayak before the divorce. H is on vacation. I knew he was leaving even though he never said a work to me. I even knew when he was leaving yet he “snuck” out during the night. this is typical of his childishness.
Prayers for Robert and his family and his church and pastors. Prayers for Ally and David, may their health and finances improve. Prayers for April and her family and her Bible reading and outreach. Prayers for Jill and her family, may she have increased patience and self awareness. Prayers for Lou and her family. Continued prayers for Marcy’s healthg and finances. Continued gratitude for your prayers for me.

I don’t hear God leading me in any direction, so I am staying the course…being available to dad and maybe a bit of recovery for myself and these past 15 months of schooling.
Last night I had a virtual exam review session. It was open for 1.5 hours in the evening and only one student stopped by for about 15 minutes. While waiting for others – I finally took down the remainder of my “school” in my solarium at home. I cleared out all the binders and necessary school materials, folded up the table and re-claimed my solarium. Between my elliptical being in there and my “school desk” – it was kind of a dreaded area as of late. My house is finally back to normal – and I must say – I notice the difference and like it.
Our tennis team has invited several players who quit due to age/injuries back to watch the match tonight and visit afterwards. Should be a good time. My partner and I are beginning our match early, and then the rest of the matches will go on at 6:00. I will need to be quick when I leave school, stopping at home to change and get my gear and then on to the match. I brought food to school and ate a late large lunch, because dinner just won’t happen.
Dad and I leave for the beach on Saturday. Trying to figure out when I will get the lawn mowed. Had hoped to do it tomorrow, but now it looks like rain. Trying to do some packing without Roger noticing – as he gets in a funk once he sees the suitcase. Yesterday was his birthday. What a great companion he is.
