New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The path of compassion invites us to remember that our belovedness is as secure as the air we breathe. It is the ground on which we have our being. … Remembering, reconnecting with, and rooting ourselves deeply in the loving essence of the universe reminds us of the truth of our sacred belovedness. We deepen our connection with this compassionate presence in various ways—prayer, meditation, solitude, retreat, worship, ritual, fellowship, and community. Many reconnect with this sacred presence by remembering and savoring the sacred moments that have graced them throughout the course of their lives.

Today’s Scripture

I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
—Ephesians 3:18-19 (NRSV)

I can’t remember something I have never experienced.I do not think that I had the foundation as a child to readily accept this concept.
Prayers for Jill and Larry as they must be continuing their golf “tour” this morning. May they have blue skies and good scores.
Prayers for Ally and David, may David’s vertigo be resolved and may Ally find a better job. I heard on the news that people with vertigo often receive relief from Vitamin D supplements.
Prayers for April and her walks in God’s creation allowing her time to connect to Him.
Prayers for Robert and his continued painstaking work on his train recreations.
Tazzie is despondent. He continues to go through the house calling Chai and checking Chai’s favorite sleeping places. It breaks my heart. We have an appointment to take him to the vet next Friday to get the shots he needs to allow us to bringhome new cats. We have been looking at the websites of several shelters in our area.
Prayers, thank you and stay safe dear UR

I think the concept of beloved came to me late in my spiritual journey and is still finding a place to settle down. What seems a long time to me is in God’s eyes, at least I think so, an eye blink. Simply because of my age i am nearer the end than the beginning.

Missed two days here, lots of activities, health, hobby, and what goes in between diverted me. As humans we are easily diverted. Thankful there is a tug that pulls me back. Glad to report that my last, at least I expect so, colonoscopy went very well. My model is 1% away from completion, and the special 40 page issue of The AMBASSADOR, the quarterly magazine of the Central Vermont Railway Historical Society has been proofread. Had my first walk in some time today, my joints are well aware. Better weather and I hope to do more. Not sure I completely understand God’s will, but have made some small steps toward understanding it better. The book of James is next in our ZOOM Bible study. Very thankful for the great meals my son prepares, am glad I am able to help him in ways that he appreciates. August 15th is independence day for Korea, WWII and 35 years imperial rule came to an end in 1945. I am also very much looking forward to August 29th, it would have been Soo Ok’s 72nd birthday.

Prayers that Tazzie will soon have a new playmate. Her action reminds us that animals too can mourn.
More great golf for Jill and her Dad, Help for David’s vertigo. Prayer s for those we miss both here on the UR and elsewhere. Thankful for resources to press on with life. May God’s wisdom be with all of us as we decide what to do, how to act, how to relate to one another. Thank You, Lord for Your ever presence, support, love, mercy, and grace.
