New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

God is constantly tapping our shoulders, asking us to wake up to the divine messages in all of creation that are waiting to be received by any who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

—Marsha Crockett, Sacred Conversation: Exploring the Seven Gifts of Spiritual Direction (Upper Room Books, 2022)

Today’s Scripture

If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.

Prayer for the Week

Holy God, thank you for the gift of spiritual direction and for someone to accompany me on my journey of growing closer to you. Help me to remain open to suggestions my spiritual director offers and to pay attention to signs of your presence. Amen.

It has been 4 years now since our lives have changed with my husband’s diagnosis. I have had a companion that has walked beside me and I call her my hero. She has the same diagnosis for 10 years. What a blessing it is to text with her and feel her strength guiding me along our journey of life. I have had several occasions to sit quietly and wait for The Lord, marvel at nature, feel blessed that God is leading us every day.
Ally, you are in my prayers this morning as you go to your Dr appointment (there surely are many of them ). May your questions be answered by your Healthcare Providers, and that God will take your hands , gently leading you one day at a time.
Lou, I pray that God will strengthen you as you work and support your family and grieve the passing of your friend.
Julie and Robert, thank you for your faithfulness at responding daily to the questions asked on this site. And the quotes, Julie. They are spot on.
For all that visit here today, I pray God’s blessings.
And now the words from our pastor in closing the services each Sunday: You are loved by God. No crisis lasts forever. There is always hope. Others can and will help, just ask.

How beautiful, April, and Amen to everything you said. Prayers for you, your husband and your friend. May God walk with you through this valley of life and guide you and hold you in his loving arms. May you feel God strengthening you.
If you can’t change your fate, change your attitude.
