New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

And for the tender love that our good Lord has for all who will be saved, he comforts quickly and sweetly, explaining in this way: “It is true that sin is the cause of all this pain, but all will be well, and every kind of thing will be well.” What can make me love my fellow Christians more than to see that God loves all who will be saved as if they were all one soul? For in every soul that will be saved there is a godly will that never agrees to sin and never will. … And so we are those whom God loves, and endlessly we do what delights God. Our good Lord showed this in the fullness of love that we stand in, in God’s sight. Yes, God loves us as well now, while we are here, as God will when we are there before God’s blessed face.

in peace because they trust in you.

    I trust Him…in His steadfast love, in His deep mercy – I stand in His promises. This is enough for me. Amazing grace – so sweet in its sufficiency. Thank You, Father.
    Julie – I pray your mom will have a smooth transition back home tomorrow and that she will be able to receive the necessary therapy to regain her strength and mobility.
    A little chillier here…maybe even frost on some pumpkins. Dad and I did not make plans to golf this weekend, as we are fair weather golfers. We will likely meet at a park today and take a long walk. It is supposed to be very sunny, but coolness in the air. I have much, much, much work to do this weekend. I had a tennis match last night. I feel so fortunate to be back to full strength and able to move well on the court. Not feeling at my best all summer – I was still able to play tennis. But – to feel healthy and strong…a gift, not to be taken for granted. My “main” team has a big match tomorrow. We are tied for first place with our opponent. I told dad to come and watch if he wanted – the club allows spectators to sit in an open air viewing area above the courts. Most clubs are still not allowing spectators.
    Leaves have fallen and my yard could use mowing. We will see how the day progresses.

    I still have trouble with this, especially now as the future is so very uncertain.
    Prayers for Jill and Larry as they spend time together even without golfing. There was frost here this morning with a low of 32.
    Prayers for Robert and may he be blessed because of all he does for others.
    Prayers for Ally, David, Pas and Ally’s sister. May all be well and in God’s arms and care.
    Prayers for Marcy who I hope to connect with today. Ipray she is over her cold and still migraine free.
    Prayers for Rick as he continues to struggle with his many life changes.

    A hymn based on Psalms 26:3-4

    ======================
    Lord, We Come Before Thee Now

    1 Lord, we come before Thee now,
    At Thy feet we humbly bow;
    O do not our suit disdain!
    Shall we seek Thee, Lord, in vain?

    2 In Thine own appointed way,
    Now we seek Thee, here we stay;
    Lord from hence we would not go,
    Till a blessing Thou bestow.

    3 Grant that all may seek and find
    Thee a God supremely kind;
    Heal the sick, the captive free.
    Let us all rejoice in Thee.

    Another rainy day, but will gladly take it, Not so cold. It’s in the 50s
    I think God has instilled in me the idea that “all will be well”. Have believed this as long as I can remember.
    Can’t explain it any other way.
    CV caboose should be finished today. I redid the ladder to roof walkway railings. Am much happier with them, Have one set done, Working on the second set.
    A walk in a park has at least some aspects of golf. Hope it goes well.
    Thankful for Marcy’s hymn selections, prayers for well being, no migraines, and better health Thankful Roxy is there to help.
    Can not imagine what Julie and Megan are going through, wish thew process would be over soon, and of course with the best possible outcome. Hope your Mom readjusts well to being home. The reality of how well we feel, think we are doing, when we are itching to go home from the hospital hits reality when we get there. Have experienced that after my heart attack. Adjusting takes effort and time.
    Prayers for Rick, this has been a topsy-turvy school and housing experience. Prayers you find good housing and can restart school when all is well. This is a very tough time to be going to college.
    Thankfully Ally, David, Pas, and Ally’s sister seem to be making their way. Thank You, Lord for all Your help. The heating project at church is now fully funded. Work begins the end of October-early November.
    ZOOM worship tomorrow, tailgate fellowship afterwards, weather [permitting. Have a blessed Sunday.
