Today’s Reflection
You live in a world where Christmas is not just a date on the calendar, but a spiritual reality. This is good! Your king reigns neither as a distant memory nor as a future possibility but is enthroned now, always, and forever as the King of kings, Emmanuel, God-with-Us.
—Ruth L. Boling, “A Summons: A Letter from Isaiah of Jerusalem,” in Season’s Greetings: Christmas Letters from Those Who Were There (Upper Room Books, 2024)
Today’s Question
If you were to say the words, “Today, I live on the other side of Christmas,” every morning, how might that shape your day? [question from Season’s Greetings by Ruth L. Boling]

Today’s Scripture
The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness—
on them light has shined.
—Isaiah 9:2 (NRSVUE)
Prayer for the Week
Jesus, help me cast aside my reluctance, throw caution to the wind, and open the doorway of my heart to all the wonder of you, here and now. Amen. [prayer adapted from Season’s Greetings by Ruth L. Boling]

Christmas has always been a part of my life, over time I have a better understanding, but the basic message of Christmas can be summed up in one word- Emanuel. Love came down at Christmas for everyone. Thank You, Lord.
Hopefully today is the first day of snowshoeing at Bretton Woods . A beautiful sunny day.
That’s an interesting thought. The now and not yet…this side of Christmas…but not yet to “Easter” – our resurrection. “Saturday people” – that is what we are.
Awaiting our Great Hope. Father – help us to do it well. To shine for You, to help others in Your Name, for Your glory.
May it be so.
