New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

Spiritual traditions, including Christianity, are full of practices that show us how to respond to the compassion planted within us. From the ancient Desert Prayer to the Compassion Practice of today, Christian compassion-forming exercises, processes, and approaches have given us guidance for the way ahead. They have shown us how to follow the threefold call to love defined by Jesus: grounding ourselves in the love of God, loving ourselves, and loving others. And through these practices, across the ages, we receive a boundless invitation—an invitation to turn our entire beings again and again to the spiritual path that Jesus taught, the way of living compassion.

Something More

Reverend Junius B. Dotson was preaching at a funeral when suddenly he realized he wasn’t going to make it through the service. The next thing he knew, he was in an ambulance on the way to the ER, where he was diagnosed with extreme exhaustion. Read more about his Soul Reset.

God is calling me to live compassionately by placing people and circumstances in my path which I am able to assist with. He has shown me His faithfulness, time and again, through His people and I ask Him to use me to further His kingdom. A great deal of compassion is necessary as I continue to walk beside my dad…compassion for him and his tenderness, as well as compassion for myself as his ache impacts me.
Unseasonably warm temperatures these past few days – which is still quite an enjoyable thing. Would prefer not to have the air conditioning on, but will cherish these days while they remain. Very pleasant to eat outdoors yesterday afternoon at the Greek Festival in our downtown area. This evening, dad and I, and two of my friends are going to the NFL Sunday night game – as Cleveland is hosting the LA Rams. My friend’s in-laws have season tickets. We usually go to one game a year. Dad has never been and I am excited for him to experience it. Even though he would never choose to be without mom, now that she is gone – he is enjoying a plethora of things.
May each person who visits here be blessed with Sabbath rest and worship.
Prayers for Robert and Erich and their relationship. Prayers for Julie and Meghan, for their togetherness and safety.

I have a calling in my heart to show compassion to others and long to further His kindom here on earth. I pray daily for God to guide me to the place He has for me to use the gifts He gave me to further His kinhdom and to continue His ministry of love.
Prayers for Jill and Larry and may they enjoy the game tonight. I’m sorry, but as a Steeler’s fan I find it difficult to believe that anyone maintains Brown’s season tickets. I know Michael Simon (the chef) does but he is an avid fan.
Prayers for April, BJ, Betsy, Lou and Mary.
Prayers for healing for Andrea, Connie, Erich, Marcy and Robert.
I am alone with h today as this is Megan’s day with her dad.
Prayers, blessings, warm hugs and thank you UR family

    Thanks Julie!

Praying that God will remove the hatred your h has and may God protect you from all harm and danger. May your situation improve and may you be strong.

May Robert and Erich be reconciled.

I live compassionately today by buying a concert ticket to support a friend who is performing and sharing snacks from Japan a friend gave me today with my nephew and helper. Also, I helped to collect offering at church when a friend asked me to stand in for another person.

    Blessings!

I’m still caring for others in a variety of ways. Thankful that God empowers me to do that.

Thank you for your prayers for Erich and me, hopefully soon some professional help will direct me and I can put in the effort needed to get the job done.

Prayers for Jill and Larry, Julie, Megan and h. The messy people in the Bible today came in the story of the prodigal son. I’m praying these lessons help me too.

The storage shelf under the layout is done! Organizing the room will start tomorrow.

Hoping for Face Time with my granddaughters tonight.

All the UR family remain in my prayers. Thank You. Lord.
