Today’s Reflection
THE GOD OF MERCY AND JUSTICE is not a disinterested overlord, blandly watching the world like a spectator, but an active, powerful, and empowering agent who always works for good in everything. Therefore, God’s ultimate will—and our own gratitude for God’s grace—compels us to work and suffer to help make divine mercy and justice living realities in this life.

We need to show mercy and do what is right in our lives.
Like being gracious, giving others another chance, forgiving them just as God forgives us. Try to understand them and have compassion for others.
Blessings
Loving on my parents seems to be the current order of business. Knowing that they have my full support and looking for tiny openings to share with mom regarding His faithfulness.
Still deeply pondering my too strong desire for things to be handled logically. Allowing God to lead me into deeper confession of this, to release my grip. This requires much attention and I am grateful for an expanse of time in the morning to sit quietly and be still with this.
Loving tender care giving was beautifully displayed at the funeral yesterday. I know how much my dad esteems Wanda’s husband and how he tenderly loved her for almost 68 years. I, too, admire her daughter – a dear friend of mine – and how she sacrificially became a live in caregiver for the past year. Oh Father – strengthen my dad and I for the days ahead. May we serve You and honor You in how we see to mom. Soften my rough edges.
Thank you, Mary, for reminding me that God does not require grand demonstrations or even actions to be His hands and feet and be alight in this dark world. We simply need an atitude of humility and forgiveness. We need to remember to see each person as a child of God’s. (Still impossible for me with h.)
I continue to pray for each of you and what you have related here that weighs on your hearts and minds. May God be with each one of you today and may each sleep well tonight.
Prayers and blessings and warm hugs dear UR family
We are pretty much confined because of the unusually LOW temps. I don’t step out at all and neither do many. However, my prayers are for the ones who do have to be out in the frigid cold.
Thankful for:
A pale pink sky in the East this morning.
No wind.
A prediction of warmer temps this weekend.
Jill, your rough edges are few, I’m sure. What a loving daughter you are!
Mary, I took to heart your forgiveness comment. I am struggling with that in a mild way.
Bless all.
Dear Connie and Julie, praying for both of you to forgive. Unforgiveness can hinder our prayers and it is not good for our health if we have much bitterness in life.
Blessings
PS with God’s help we can do it!
You are a great “encourager”, Mary.

Being present as much as possible, being mindful of the needs of others, and then doing whatever I am empowered to do to fulfill their needs are ways I can make help others.
Advocating for change when people or the planet are hurt are ways I can show God’s mercy and justice.
Amen to Mary’s words about forgiveness. It can be a very difficult thing to do, pray for God’s wisdom, strength, and power to forgive as God forgives. May Julie and Connie be empowered.
Jill, yes, you are a devoted daughter. and yes, sometimes logic isn’t always the
answer. I think being a math teacher might make logic tougher to deal with.
Thankful, for a safe ride home yesterday in a white out. It came out of now where and while the amount of snow that resulted was small, it made vision very difficult. Slow, careful, attentive driving and God’s guidance helped me home.
Thankful that Erich is doing well. He’s out in the cold often on his job.
Anneliese is getting help she needs, still some issues to resolve , but there is
optimism.
Blessings to all of the UR family, stay warm and safe if you are in the cold.
Thank You, Lord for all You do.
Extending mercy and promoting justice are at the core of Jesus’ teachings, and I believe if every single person in the world did this with the people in their lives – at home, at work, in the community – it would be a better world and our lives would be better for it. I pray to grow in seeing where mercy and justice call me.
Blessings, all.
