Today’s Reflection
OFTEN PATIENCE REQUIRES us to slow down, pay attention, and see God in the midst of our frustration. When you get impatient, ask God what God would like you to see in that moment.

In impatience I am prone to mistakes, can become frustrated, do things or take actions I should not do. It is easy to become impatient and takes effort to remain patient. Doing so saves a lot of energy.
Thankful to meet a hockey player from a team I helped long ago and return to the rink where we first met for a game. It has been more than 50 years since I was the student manager. It’s the same place , but there have been many changes, and more changes are on the way. Thankful to share this experience with my son.
Had positive feedback from German railroad modelers on the progress made on the Bismarck. I’m a slow modeler and have to learn many new skills to accomplish my goal.
Thankful for church today. I’m recharged there.
Mom would have been 100 years old today.
Connie – many varied thoughts, expressions from you. Your daughter’s garden protected from frost, humming birds wondering where to go, on solid rock you stand, new opportunities for peace and tranquility. May God’s peace be in your heart.
Julie -thankful for your very specific prayers for the UR family. I am sure they are very much appreciated. I echo them.
Prayers for your well being, safety, and future. You are in God’s hands.
Andrea -we’re human and make mistakes, I’m sure Lowell understands, you are sorry for what you said, hope your walk helped settle your mind and heart.
Our relationships with our children have their roller coaster moments, but with God in us, we, like God, continue to love them and bear with them.
Thanks be to God.
Prayers for Jill, Becky, Gloria, and Larry. You are doing remarkably well during this tough time. God most certainly is watching over you. Thank You, Lord.
God’s peace, blessings, love, and mercy to you all. Have a blessed Sunday.
Thank you, Robert. I apologized deeply to Lowell yesterday and he was gracious. I am grateful for your kind words and your prayers. You, Erich, and Anneliese are in mine.
About five years ago, Lowell and I cross-country skied at Craftsbury in VT and AMC in NH. We were with a group from MN. What wonderful, beautiful places. There was little snow and we did more hiking than skiing. Besides the awesome beauty, we remember the absolutely delicious food at both ski lodges. I pray Erich finds a job in NH with more opportunity to use his skills and advance. I pray for you as you support him on his path. Bless you, faithful father.
Experiencing and appropriately enduring impatience grooms patience. Perseverance is also increased and the awareness to lean in more to Our Saviour. Am I impatient because I am being inconvenienced? Woe is me (sarcasm). Our light and momentary afflictions…
Father, teach me to abide inconveniences in stride. Where patience is needed in relationships – show me how to be more merciful. Increase and expand my love – Your Spirit at work in me.
Grateful for much time at home yesterday, including a nap. Grateful for my friend who is handy and replaced the belt on my sweeper. Grateful for time with her and dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Connie – I envision your hummers, as well as your daughter’s corner garden. May your thoughts be sweet…yes, likely – bittersweet, but may the sweetness linger.
Andrea – praying for the loving bond between you and Lowell and that the love you share will wash over words which are regrettable.
Julie – thank you for your constant prayerful attitude. We are praying for you as well. As the weather turns and your hands become more bothersome. Also, your continued search for a job.
Robert – I see you as the foundation of this group. I may not recall correctly – but I think you have been here since I started posting. Thank you for your constancy, your example of selflessness seen with your loved ones. You are the hands and feet of Christ to those in your circle.
Sabbath blessings and rest to you all.
Thank you, Jill. Your comments inspire with the depth of your faith. I pray for your ongoing strength, health, and support as you deal with your mother’s illness, the demands of teaching, and your devotion to your family, and I pray for your family and for Roger, your sweet furry companion. Blessings.
Job comes to mind as I reread this passage on impatience. In suffering , he grew impatient for God’s intervention. He was reminded of His unending love and grace. May I also be blessed with God’s Grace in my impatience.
I also learn patience from the faithful who visit here each day.
Robert, caring for Wrich and Annalise. I too am recharged here, Robert.
Jill, your love and patience with your parents through her illness.
Mary, adjusting to a new job.
Connie, Marcy, Julie, Andrea and all those who pray for us all through trials and struggles. May a god hold each of you close. Amen
*God
Thank you, Betsy. I value your quiet comments that demonstrate your strong faith and service. Prayers for you and your family, and may your Christian service ministry be blessed.
Thanks dear Betsy. I am eternally grateful for all your prayers
May we be quick to learn from our impatience and see God in our frustration.
Blessings!
Patience is not one of my virtues lately-used to be more quiet and calm. Oh well, I do try not to be that way. I need to quit making excuses for myself, though, like aging, stress, grief….things that everyone experiences.
Thankful for:
The changing color of the leaves that makes a person glad.
The cool weather that makes sleeping great.
Jill, the sweetness IS lingering and your comment made me aware of that.
Robert, Betsy, and all, I wish you a Sweet Sabbath.
The things I share with all of you are simple things, but from the heart.
And to you, Connie. I love to read about the graces you find in your days, particularly your hummingbirds, and I appreciate your wisdom. I.pray for your strength and support in the grief you bear and the stresses you face. Blessings.
Thanks, Andrea. It’s always good to see your name here.
