Today’s Reflection
I am asking that you believe the essence of me. I’m inviting you—I am encouraging you—to make a joyful choice to believe the whole truth of me: I am love, pure, holy, infinite, unchanging, merciful, gracious, slow to anger, powerful beyond measure, made perfect in weakness. All of who I am is aimed squarely at all of who you are, all of the time.

Today’s Question
Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and substitute the word “Christmas” for the word “love.” How does this passage resonate with your plans for Christmas this year? [question adapted from from Season’s Greetings by Ruth L. Boling] Join the conversation.
Today’s Scripture
Love is patient and kind, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn’t selfish or quick tempered. . . . Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Love never fails!
—1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (CEV)
Prayer for the Week
Jesus, help me cast aside my reluctance, throw caution to the wind, and open the doorway of my heart to all the wonder of you, here and now. Amen. [prayer adapted from Season’s Greetings by Ruth L. Boling]

The expression of our love needs to be accentuated this time of year. The hurry, the stressors, the emotions can lead to wrong reactions, one which could be regrettable. Our love needs to point others to Our Saviour. Father, may it be so.
A full day ahead. Following church is the Cancer Support Group meeting, followed by its Christmas luncheon. Then a Hope and Remembrance service – my nephew and his wife are coming. She is having a hard time now that the holidays have arrived. Missing her mom quite a bit. I am glad she agreed to attend this service. She said she would like the three of us to go out to dinner afterwards.
The biggest plan for Christmas is to be home with Erich,
If the weather conyinues, there should be lots of snowshoeing and skiing.
Thank You. Lord.
I liked the last sentence of the reading today – all of God and his infinite love is aimed right at us… lots of stressors this week – I am trying so hard to be patient and today I am trying to be quiet and stay focused on His love – blessings to all on this second Sunday of advent – Peace to all and let Peace begin with me. Help us Lord.
Our Christmas plans are kind of loose. David and I are staying at home. A friend may spend Christmas Day with us. The passage from 1 Corinthians resonates. Showing our friend Christmas love is our hope for the day.
David and I have had a respiratory thing and are on the mend. Thank You, Lord. Work is very stressful. We are very short-staffed. I have a special prayer request for a dear friend: that she is well and I might hear from her soon.
