New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

We moderns are rediscovering what the ancients knew well: when something is wrong, every part of us is affected. Whether we complain that we are physically sick, emotionally adrift, spiritually bereft, or socially oppressed, we respond with every part of ourselves: body, emotions, mind, spirit, and sociability. As we pray for continued healing, we may well be challenged to attend to each of these realms. My longtime experience in the healing ministry has taught me that human beings are wired for lifelong growth in which God shapes each person’s healing individually and uniquely, weaving in and out of each part of our being.

—Tilda Norberg, Gathered Together: Creating Personal Liturgies for Healing and Transformation (Upper Room Books, 2007)

Today’s Scripture

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed;
save me, and I shall be saved,
for you are my praise.

    Continue to seek His leading, and listen to my body, mind and spirit.
    It has been a busy several days, with Becky, Dad and Don back in town – and activities with her kids. The weekend was overwhelmingly busy…each event very good – but in totality – very tiring.
    Yesterday I made an appointment with pain management – I suppose I am ready to seek medical advice anew. The appointment is the day before Thanksgiving – as I am off of school. I am trying to temper my hopefulness.

    The questions asked her, like many of life’s questions, are hard to answer. I just keep going trusting, serving, believing, and doing what I believe God wants me to do.
    News of other NEM members is rarer these days. I’m still early to post on most days and then life’s distractions lead me away. Today I’m a late poster due to early morning activities. Bible/book study on the book of Jonah was good. Prep for church conference going well. Will be ready for it on the 26th.
    Doubts of a move to PA have become reality with the current market, economy, and the coming of a new administration. There are other reasons as well. Visits are possible.
    Happy Thanksgiving! God’s blessings to you all. Thank You, Lord.
