Today’s Reflection
Speaking honestly about who we are is the way to heal our heart. And we are multifaceted. We are—first and foremost, beginning, middle, and end—who God created and calls us to be. We are also everything that has happened along the way: the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the trauma, the pain, the questions, the hope, the joy.

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture
The woman, full of fear and trembling, came forward. Knowing what had happened to her, she fell down in front of Jesus and told him the whole truth.
—Mark 5:33 (CEB)
Prayer for the Week
God of light, help me to speak my truth. Show me how to be still so that I may hear your gentle whisper. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who has the power to heal me. Amen.

I have learned to the importance of authenticity…in me with others and others with me. If I sense authenticity, especially to the point of vulnerability, I am willing to go “there”…where ever that might be, with the other person. And I can trust them to hold my “truth”.
I also have learned to be incredibly open with my Father. Of course, He knows me better than I know myself. No sense in hiding, being bashful. Confession and humility – these open the avenue.
The skies have cleared here and we are back to beautiful Autumnal sunshine and moderate temperatures.
The week has been a blur – the funeral was Monday evening for my nephew’s mother-in-law. Her best friend is the mother of one of my students…from 20 years ago. We had a wonderful time reconnecting – and have a future dinner together planned.
Conferences this evening – so a long day. Hoping to get a lot of grading done. I doubt many parents will be by with the gorgeous weather outside.
