Today’s Reflection
As you think or dream about launching a new worship community for new people, you have to ask yourself: How is this part of God’s vision? How can this new thing better serve the mission of God in bringing more people to God’s love? How can I get myself and my team ready to launch it? Spending time in prayer will certainly help you answer some of these questions.

Prayer for the Week
Dear God, help us to welcome new people into our faith communities. Guide us to people who are seeking you, and help us convey your love and acceptance as we develop authentic relationships with them. Amen.
Submit your prayer to The Upper Room.
Something More
For many churches, the call to make disciples comes with a realization that the church’s current worship opportunities do not reach certain groups in their surrounding community. A practical guide for church planters in the 2020s, Launching a New Worship Community is now available in both English and Spanish.

“How is this part of God’s vision?” Is a wonderful question to ask. Maybe not in those exact words, I ask this question a lot. It works for things I contemplate doing myself, for things others do that might affect me and others whom I love, and it even works for pondering God’s own providence. In the last case, it occurs to me as I write, I think I need to treat it as a prayer and ask it reverently.
It’s a good question.
Love this insight, Rusty. God – what are you up to and how do you see me being involved?
Worship this morning was very nice. Such a sunshiny morning. Crisp, as it should be in November. Removed the latest “blanket” of leaves from my yard, driveway and patio. The warmth of the sun was welcome. Took a brief nap and continue to ignore the call to grade paper in my school bag. The short week ahead bids me to just let the wait til tomorrow.
Going over to my friend’s – to be with her while her husband goes to work. I am excited to see how much she has progressed since I saw her on Wednesday. She said her daughter and boyfriend helped her get outside Thursday, and that Friday she walked without her walker, as her husband was beside her to steady her if needed. We will order in some food and watch football.
Yesterday my sister and I hit a few furniture stores as I am looking for a sofa. Still more stores to hit as I consider my purchase. Becky invited me over for an impromptu dinner. Don and I watched some football.
