Today’s Reflection
When I walk, my life slows down. Rather than speed past the world around me, sealed in my car with the radio playing, I move slowly. Moving at the speed of my feet, I hear the sounds of birds, insects, and the wind blowing through the trees. The rhythm of my footfalls invites me into an awareness of myself and the world around me. This awareness leads me beyond creation to the Creator.

Today’s Scripture
Let heaven celebrate! Let the earth rejoice!
Let the sea and everything in it roar!
Let the countryside and everything in it celebrate!
Then all the trees of the forest too
will shout out joyfully.
—Psalm 96:11-12 (CEB)
Prayer for the Week

There are moments when I feel a sensation. They can come in worship, Bible/book study, walks in the woods. These sensations make me feel touched. Sometimes there are tears. They are very recognizable. They come quite unexpectedly. They have an emotional quality.
I’m very thankful for them.
Hopefully back on track and my posts are seen again. Thank you all for reaching out, that email from Jim was quite a surprise.
Now if I can catch up with all the doings, I’ll be very happy. Bless you all. Thank You, Lord.
My awareness of the Creator heightens when I am out in His magnificent creation in a different place…while travelling. The mountains out West awe me. The trickling of a stream quiets me. The lull of the scents, sounds and views on a beach humble me.
These last few days have gotten away from me. I continue to try to get things as organized as possible for my sub. I have built out 2+ weeks, in case it is worst case scenario with my surgery. At least I will have peace of mind this weekend – knowing things are in good shape at school.
I am generally not a list maker. But my mind is so busy and I feel like I have to have so many things accounted for – that I have resorted to lists. This weekend I will get bags packed for my overnight stay at my friend’s the day of surgery, as well as another bag in case I go to my sister’s house for a few nights.
My weekend is pretty full, but again with really good things. The other church I have been attending is beginning a Thursday evening service tonight. My friend and I are going. This is perfect, as I am taking a day trip Sunday and won’t be able to attend then.
Robert – glad to know all is well with you.
I am with Robert. I have unexpected moments, especially in church when I feel close to God.
