Today’s Reflection
God of songs and silence, poetry and dance, thank you for weaving your way into our world, into our voices, into our memories. Thank you for this Christmas season, … so rich with song and melody. Help us to keep singing and to keep Christmas in our hearts and on our lips.
Remind us that you are the Great Lover who gives us the gift of your own presence every day. Amen.

Prayer for the Week
Surprising God, thank you for choosing to be with us as a child who needs our care and tenderness in an often harsh world. Thank you for your humble beginnings, showing us that we don’t need to look too high or too far to find your presence in the ordinary, the humble, the poor, or the beautiful. Thank you that your love reaches us again and again. Amen.

Worship and walks in the woods are spiritual practices that help me feel God’s presence.
Home tomorrow, Communion and worship on Sunday, a wonderful way to start the New Year.
Have had a great time here in Rhinebeck, a walk is planned for today. More in a bit, need to catch up with all the doings here at NEM. Thank You, Lord.
Prayers for David facing quite a few health issues, travel to FL for care. Very hard to imagine that GA doesn’t have medical help for him. Prayers for Ally as she cares for David and copes with her circumstances. Ally your labyrinth story is interesting, often the leader gets more out of programs than the intended audience. So great to learn that Mary (I assume this is Mary from Singapore) is doing well although she has vision problems. She reminds me of the many who we miss so dearly from only a few years ago. Thankful for Gail’s posts, God has done wonders for you! Thank You Lord.
Prayers for Julie an Megan and the dog in the basement. Hope for a meeting of the minds that works for all concerned. Prayers for Julie as she cares for H.
Shifting gears today, Korean New Year’s food, a soup made with rice cake and dumplings, and a side dish of kimchi for supper tonight. A walk is planned for this afternoon. Have my tickets for travel home tomorrow, a very circuitous route, but I’m on the train, no driving. If all goes well I’ll be home by 7:30- 8. Travel prayers for all making their way. Thank You, Lord.
Prayer and speakiing of which I have been in prayer all morning asking God to help me through this day. H has been badgering me constantly all morning. I have had no respite from his demands and accusations. It is not just the Parkinson’s as he has always been a mean and demanding person. I pray for God to stregthen me to make it though this day. I am currently very sick to my stomach due to the stress.
