Today’s Reflection
Many of us have images of God that prevent us from seeing ourselves as simply resting in God’s lap. But eventually words cease, requests run out, arguments stop, and we are invited simply to be with God. Not seeking a feeling. Not looking for an answer. Not actively imagining God, listening to God, or talking to God, but crawling up in the lap of Love, resting our head against Love’s breast, and taking comfort in that slow, steady heartbeat of grace that says, This is where you belong.

Today’s Scripture
Only in God do I find rest;
my salvation comes from him.
—Psalm 62:1 (CEB)
Prayer for the Week
New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

I have often taken an object as nd held it in my hand as I prayed, such as a small wooden cross that I have, or a stone. It gives me something to focus my attention on as I pray. I also focus on the face of Jesus: not a particular face , but on His love.
I hope to have the disability paperwork completed today or tomorrow so I can fax it. I’m all with this and it has to be filled out by hand. I don’t understand why there is no option to complete online so it can be emailed. Bureaucracy. David has his follow-up with urologist this week. Please pray the PSA numbers are down. Prayers for Julie, for surgery to go well. Robert, praying for your church, for Erich, and your possible move. Jill, praying for an environment conducive to learning at your school. Tough times to teach in. Praying for little Roger, that his blood sugar numbers improve and that he gets used to daily shots. I pray that in our busyness, we find ways to rest in God’s love .
When Roger jumps up in my lap during my early morning time, and begins to knead and purr – I often think about my time with God – and do I come eagerly, leaping into His lap – to just be there in His presence. To desire His comfort. (Is Roger here for me or the heated blanket???) When I do envision Him – it is a compassionate figure, arms open and welcoming. Pure gentleness.
I had a really positive conversation with my evaluator/assistant principal. She wanted to add some comments from our conversation to the overall evaluation, so I don’t yet know what I was rated. But – it seems she was very pleased. Very grateful. I try to put that awkward and poor review from 5 years ago behind me, but I guess I am still haunted by it. Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for me during my preparation and evaluation.
Dinner with my friend and a good discussion on the book we are working our way through – Providence, by John Piper. He is a very deep thinker. And our beliefs don’t fully line up with his, and that is ok. We had a longer than usual conversation tonight and we press on in this 700+ page book.
Not seeing much change in Roger. Still drinking a lot. Trying to think positive about how things will go while I am away for a week. Still waiting for my friend to decide if she will come to my house every 12 hours or if she wants me to bring him to her house for the week.
Praying for Julie, for her recovery. Will be glad to hear from her tomorrow. Ally – hoping for a good report regarding David’s PSA numbers.
Missed this yesterday. I add my prayers to concerns expressed here: Jill’s school review, David’s PSA results, Julie’s surgery, Roger while Jill is away, A busy day Tuesday with a variety of activities.
God is with us aways, that’s a continual reassurance. Thank You, Lord.
